DALAT FLOWER FESTIVAL
2014 -2015
The
6th Dalat Flower Festival will take place from 29th December 2014 to 5th
January 2015 in Dalat city and Lac Duong District, Lam Dong province of Vietnam
Highland
Located at the elevation of 1500m above sea level, Dalat
hides itself amidst the immense pine forest on Lang Biang highland, Central
Vietnam. The city is endowed with the fresh and mild climate. This is an ideal
condition for all kinds of flowers to blossom all the year round. Arriving in
Dalat city, tourists will surprised at a space of flowers. By the road sides,
the wild daisy show their yellow flowers, the mimosa with their small lovely
purple flowers or the climbing roses flashing beside the gates of hill villas.
Dalat is called “The town of flowers” by tourists and “The
town of spring season” by climatologists. Thanks to its cool climate all year
around, Dalat weather is ideal for growing flowers as well doing travel
business. Dalat city has 4,000 hectares for growing flowers. Dalat flowers are
not only supplied for Vietnam customers but also exported to foreign markets.
In Dalat city, there are about 50 companies and more than 6,000 households
growing and supplying flowers. Dalat has many species of flowers such as Daisy,
Rose, Mimosa, Forget-me-not, Carnation, Pensee, Gladiolus, Begonia, Orchid,
Snapdragon, Purple Flamboyant…
With its purpose of honoring the
value of Dalat flowers and their farmers, Dalat flower festival has been
organized every two years since 2005.The 6th Dalat Flower Festival 2014-2015 is an exclusive tourism event
attracting lots of local and international visitors to the city on 2015 New
Year holidays. The main stage of the festival is stayed on the waters of Xuan
Huong Lake. The festival performances are participated by thousands of
professional and amateur artists. Aside from the opening and closing
ceremonies, Dalat Flower Festival 2014-2015 also has many interesting
activities and programs such as flower exhibition fairs, flower parade…
